Good evening brothers,
As part of our commitment to making 2024 homecoming the best it can possibly be for our alumni, we’ve been working with the folks who are organizing the WCU alumni party in Sylva that immediately follows the homecoming parade. I think last year it may have been called the parade “watch party”. Some of you may remember that if your name wasn’t “on the list” you couldn’t get in and it was a “rock-in” party. Really a lot of fun.
Details aren’t 100% complete yet but here’s what we have so far:
In order to get Lambda Chi alumni in, we’ve been given the opportunity to “sponsor” the band that plays at the party. (Two members of the band are alumni brothers Tim Queen and Mike Gillespie so it’s a good cause anyway).
What I understand so far is that if you make a donation, your name goes on the list to get in. I’m not sure exactly how that happens, but I trust the folks running it to figure it out. The goal is to get $1500 in donations. I went last year & it truly was a blast. I think it’s worth it. I will be making a donation.
If you’re playing golf, know that it’s unlikely you’ll be able to make it by 6 BUT last year my wife & Harnad & Gibb’s wives went to the party in Sylva & we met them after golf. We’ll make sure if you make a donation, your wife’s name will go on the list too.

Date- Friday November 1st
Location – Marthas Place in downtown Sylva (formerly known as The Paper Mill)
Time – 6pm (I think this is immediately following the homecoming parade) until ???
