Brothers, Here are the details for the services & visitation for Philip Preston.

Brothers,

We’ve heard over the last 24 hours that a lot of brothers are struggling with losing Lip. I am too. We’re searching for some kind of lasting tribute to pay to him. If you have any ideas, please let me or Matt Harnad know.

I’m heading out of the country on a long trip today. Every day I’m going to hoist a glass to Lip wherever I am & post the picture. I encourage you to do the same. This may seem strange to say but I feel like we need to do something to show how much he meant to us. I think this should also serve as a reminder to all of us not to wait until tomorrow to let those you care about know how you feel because tomorrow is not guaranteed. Love you brothers.

Brothers,

It is with profound grief that we must announce the passing last night of BZ373, brother Philip Preston. We have almost no details at this point. When details are available, we will share them.

Please keep Catherine and their boys in your thoughts and prayers as they go through what can only be an unimaginably difficult time.

Lip was a great person and a great brother. He will will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Good Morning brothers! In order to make sure we aren’t missing any brothers who are on Instagram but not on Facebook, we’ve added an Instagram account for the alumni association. The Instagram account is “lcabzalumni”. The profile picture is the image below.

It’s a private account. If you haven’t already gotten an invitation to follow it, I think you can just search for it & hit “follow”. We’ll approve the requests as fast as we can.

I’m trying to figure out how to link our Facebook & Instagram accounts so everything posted to one automatically gets posted to the other.

Good evening brothers. The Beta Zeta alumni association is sponsoring a hole in the 2025 Bob Waters Memorial Golf Tournament which will be played on September 12th at Sequoyah National in Cherokee. We don’t know which hole it will be so please keep an eye out for the flag. Design below. Thanks!

Good evening brothers. With deep sympathy, we announce the passing of brother David Rhea, BZ 286 from Kings Mountain NC. Brother Rhea was initiated in the Fall of 1982. He is remembered as a kind, funny soul who was full of life and as a favorite brother by many. As soon as an obituary is available, we’ll send it out in a post.

When you’re half way to your goal of 150 brothers paying dues with less than 90 days before homecoming, how do you incentivize those who haven’t paid yet?

T-shirts!

We’ve ordered 150 shirts. The next 71 brothers who pay dues will get a t-shirt.

Don’t worry… brothers who have already paid (79 of you) will get one too. They were ordered in sizes as follows. If you’ve already paid, let me know what size you need & I’ll reserve that size for you. As with last year, sizes are first come, first served.

Unlike last year, instead of mailing them, we will give them out at homecoming. For anyone who pays but doesn’t come to homecoming, we’ll mail your shirt afterward.
